    Hi there,
My wife and I are looking to plan a 6 day, 5 night- Hut to Hut trip in the Bernese Alps for our Honeymoon, beginning July 1st. We are both experienced hikers, but do not have mountaineering experience. We are fit and in our early 30’s. We would like to hike 5-6 hour days, and spend nights in huts. I discovered a route taken by the Berg Theater, that starts at Geltenhutte and moves to Lammorenhutte- Suls-Lobhornhutte- Tallihutte- Windeggutte- Trifthutte- Zeltzplatz. That is the only place I found that laid out a hut to hut trip itinerary. However, I do not know the distance from hut to hut, nor the trail conditions and difficulties.

Can someone guide me here, and let me know if I am in the ball park with this itinerary, or if I should look elsewhere, and if so, where. We have a lot of flexibility with location and schedule. We are looking for a scenically beautiful location that is not inundated with tourists, and that is reasonable on our bodies and not entirely dangerous. Thank you very much!

I used these sites and found them very helpful in planning our E-W hike from Gimmelwald to Leukerbad hut-to-hut. These sites have detailed descriptions.

I’m also planning a multi-day hut-to-hut and picked up the book Tour of the Jungfrau Region (https://www.amazon.com/Tour-Jungfrau-Region-two-week-Oberland/dp/1852845961/).

It’s great – thorough, provides an itinerary with distances and times, route descriptions, etc. It’s based on a 2-week tour but you can easily splice this up to suit your schedule.

In addition to the section-by section-route descriptions, the book includes a list of huts, including contact info, for setting reservations, along with other resources.

I’m looking for a good map of the area, as well. If anyone has suggestions, LMK.

    Thanks and happy hiking, Wesley
