Sorry to ask, how do I make sure I get on Bernina Express from Davos to Tirano and then bus to Lugano.

I will be riding Sept. 17, I am staying in Filisur. I am thinking of catching a regional train from Filisur to Davos in the morning before boarding Bernina Express to Tirano. I am traveling solo, typically choose 1st class for less crowd and more room, will this train fill up for middle of Sept?

I think I clicked on link for “happy rails”? I saw where I could select depart town and class to Tirano but not sure if this takes you to bus screen next or how do you book bus too?

    Thank you,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

I think we got this sorted on your other thread right?

yes sir, got 2 more train rides to do tomorrow.

Gotthard Panorama Express from Lugano to Lucerne…I understand I want to try and catch the steamer across the lake.

Zurich Airport to Zermatt via Kandersteg (Scenic route), I don’t think I need a reservation for this route, but if not mistaken there was a saver pass available for this one.

I am suppose to land at 8:30 am on Sept 13, I think there is a train at 11:18 that I should be able to catch.

Gotthard Panorama Express only needs reservations on the train part. Not possible on the boat. You need 1st Class ticket on boat to get to the upper deck/dining room.

Easiest way to reserve train is here. Enter Lugano to Flüelen via Göschenen departing 9:23.

    See attached.

I assume I’m too early for booking. I am looking at booking for Sept. 19.

Normally 90 days out from travel is the threshold time.

You can probably book now with HappyRail and they will take your booking but only send you the reservation when it becomes available.

Hi spaulus69! You can read about booking the train part of the Gotthard Panorama Express here: myswissalps.com/gottha rdpanoramaexpress/pack ages. You can try Happyrail indeed, as suggested by Rockoyster: http://www.happyrail.com/en/p ass/europe/switzerland.

I assume you’re referring to the Saver Day Pass for the leg Zurich-Kandersteg-Zermatt? Please read about it here: myswissalps.com/oneday travelpass/details. It could work if you don’t have a rail pass of some kind. With your amount of traveling, I’d expect a rail pass to be cheaper than working with regular tickets or Saver Day Passes though. Did you check this using myswissalps.com/train/ ticketspasses/practica l/chooserailpass?

Annika, I followed the link you provided and looks like I have (3) options. I select 09:23-11:47 Lugano to Fluelen for CHF $28…is this the reservation. I have attached a screen shot.

I tried again this morning, thinking I may have missed a step…same results.

Can’t purchase seat reservation at this time…

Travel date is Sept. 19 2018

HappyRail price is a mere CHF4 on top of the SBB price. That small commission you mentioned on another post. 😎
