Hi,

Planning a tour in Bernina Express in april 3th.

I’m in Milano and would like to know possibilities:

– go to Lugano, take the bus to Tirano and then the Bernina Express. Is it possible?

– sleep in Tirano and take the Bernina Express in the morning? In a quick search I found schedule just in the afternoon, 14:26.

We plan to go to Chur, sleep one night and then go to Zurich.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

The 14:26 is the only departure from Tirano to Chur unless you skip the Bernina Express and follow same route on regular trains. The bus from Lugano is timed to connect with the 14:26 departure.

From Milan you can train to Lugano in time to catch bus (departs 10:00am) to Tirano or for a more relaxed start train from Milan to Tirano in time to connect with Bernina Express to Chur.

You could do Milan to Zurich but it would be a long day in the saddle.
