Hi Ted, and welcome to MySwissAlps!
There’s a good chance a 15-day Swiss Travel Pass will still save you money, even if you only use 12 days. In the end, there is only one way to know for sure which option will save you the most, and that is to decide on a detailed itinerary, calculate the cost of every trip you intend to do by train, bus, boat and cable car, and then compare the costs using each of the passes you are considering.
If you don’t feel like doing that, I would go for the 15-day Swiss Travel Pass and be done with it!
There is plenty of information to help you here, and a spreadsheet to help with calculations:

Hi Ted,
I agree with Alpenrose, and that the Swiss Travel Pass (15 days) will probably be the best option (and most convenient – but doing the math is the only way to know for sure.
You can click the link above to learn more about the Swiss Travel Pass, such as what discounts are offered to major attractions (where it’s valid tab) and how to buy online (price tab). The nice thing with the pass is that it can be emailed to you for printing at home (no need to go to an office in Switzerland and wait in line).
If you would like more information on what to do during your stay have a look at these pages: Zurich, Wengen, Jungfrau region.
