Some additional background information: you don’t have a choice which train company you travel with; the trains are operated by the national carriers of both countries and there’s no competition. But you do have a choice regarding the ticket type (see Steph’s links).

French railways is SNCF (since 1938 – en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNCF)
Most people on this forum want to come from Paris to Geneva by high speed train – high speed trains from France to Switzerland are operated by TGV Lyria, which is a Franco-Swiss JV: http://www.tgv-lyria.com/fr/en
Luzern – Milano is SBB Swiss Federal Railways (in conjunction with Trenitalia – the government owned Italian inter-city passenger train operator).
