Hi all,

I will be in Lucerne from 29th August to 2nd September with my husband and here is my itinerary.

D1 Arrive at Zurich and go to Lucerne

D2 Mount Pilatus , Glacier Garden

D3 Golden pass to Interaken and Jangfrau (Top of the Europe) – I understand this is not recommended to be done from Lucerne

D4 Mount Titlis , Lake Brienz

D5 Lucerne to Chur – take GEX – Brig to Milan

I have done the math and found that Half fare pass is best for us even though it is a short stay. Have i missed anything?

Also, is there anyway I could reserve GEX without buying the ticket at all, and then once i get the pass i buy the tickets?

Yes, certainly the Swiss Half Fare Card (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisshalffarecar d) can be the best option even for shorter stays. Sometimes people still will get the Swiss Travel Pass (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass) even if it is a little more expensive as it is a much simpler option (less tickets need to be bought).

As for the Glacier Express (https://www.myswissalp s.com/glacierexpress) you can buy tickets at any time – they don’t sell out, only seat reservations sell out. Just make sure you have your pass and tickets prior to boarding but be sure to reserve seats ASAP: https://www.myswissalp s.com/glacierexpress/p ackages
