    Hello there,

I was hoping to use some help and guidance. We are flying into Zurich from Croatia and will be spending 3 nights in Lucerne so I was hoping to get some guidance on the best rail options over the three days based on what we wish to do. Below are the key aspects to be considered:

    1) We will be getting a train from Zurich airport to Lucerne as our first train trip.

    2) Over the next two days we may on one of the days do a scenic train tour of either the Gotthard Panorama Express or the Golden Pass Line.

Could you please confirm which of the two is more scenic/beautiful for a 4-5 hour tour?

    3) We will be getting a international journey train from Lucerne Station to Venice on the 4th day leaving Switzerland. The train that we were thinking of taking goes through the locations and stations mentioned below:

Arth-Goldau , Gotthard-Basistunnel , Bellinzona, Lugano, Chiasso, Como S. Giovanni , Monza, Milano, Centrale , Brescia, Peschiera del Garda , Verona Porta Nuova , Vicenza, Padova, Venezia Mestre, Venezia S. Lucia

Could you please confirm the following:

    – if the train trip we are taking to Venice is a similar route to either of the Gotthard Panoramaa Express or the Golden Pass line scenic train tours and that it would be a waste of money and a double up given that we are travelling to Venice already by train?

    – the best scenic train tour for us to consider whilst in Lucerne factoring in that we are already travelling to Venice via the above mentioned route?

    4) Based on the above mentioned journeys what is the best train travel pass recommended over the 3 days? Do you suggest that the Lucerne to Venice journey ticket is purchased separately?

Thank you once again in advance for any help.
