Please could you advise the cheapest rail tickets for 3 adults travelling from Zurich Airport to Zermatt on 30 March and back on 5 April. I find the SBB website rather confusing. Should we buy half fare travelcards AND saver day passes online in advance? I know you can buy fullprice tickets at the station on the day. Thanks.

    Hello boggins1,

Guessing you are going skiing at Zermatt.

If you can get Saver Day Passes (http://www.myswissalps.com/on edaytravelpass/details) at lowest price of CHF 52 that would be your best bet.

No need to buy a Swiss Half Fare Card if that is your only travel.

Another option is the Swiss Transfer Ticket. You can print those tickets at home and they’re cheaper than regular tickets. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstransferticket.

If you’re not going there to ski and want to do some sightseeing I’d go with the Swiss Half Fare Card though. That gets you a discount on the local cableways too.
