In October my husband and I are flying into Zurich, taking the train to Lucerne and then taking the Golden Pass train to Interlaken, then to Lauterbrunnen for 3 days. When we leave we are going to Fussen, Germany. We are buying the Swiss Saver Pass, so I think all my travel is covered, but my questions are: 1) will I need additiional reservations for the Golden Pass segment? 2) what would be the best route to get to Fussen using my Swiss Pass? Thank-you.

Hello katrinka,

Yes, also with a Swiss Pass you will have to make reservations for the Golden Pass segment. Information can be found on the Golden Pass website. You will pay for the reservations only.

You can use the Swiss Timetable to find out about getting to Füssen from Interlaken (please note it's spelled Füssen, otherwise the timetable can't find your destination). There are several possible connections/routes which differ in time from 6h50 min. to 8h50 min. Click the "plus" at the left side for more information on each connection.
I suppose you know your Swiss Pass will be valid until the Swiss border.

I hope this helps.

Hello katrinka. The Swiss Pass will only cover this route up to the Swiss-German border (I think up to St. Margrethen in your case). You can check the exact area of validity using the downloadable map at the Swiss Pass page.
