Thanks Steph , I am trying to take the best train route to Zermatt with a stop somewhere overnite in the Lake Maggioria area. would like the least numbers of train rides Hope that helps
The fastest connection from Milan to Zermatt is a EuroCity train with one change at Brig. Along that route you can stop off at Stresa which is on the western shores of Lake Maggiore.
