Best way by train to the 4 surrounding countries.

    We will be traveling to Zurich over Christmas of 2012 and are planning to travel one day trips over the border to Germany, Austria, Italy and France what is the best way to travel by rail since we are traveling traveling out of Switzerland.

    Hi jeffandjennell, and welcome to the forum. You can enter all trips, including trips to bordering countries, in the Swiss timetable. Just fill out your Swiss departure station, the outbound destination station and the date of traveling. The timetable will come up with all possible connections and further details.

    You may need seat reservations for trains crossing the border. More information can be found on the seat reservation page and in the rail FAQ.
