Hi

as per the URL http://www.happyrail.com/en/p ass/europe/switzerland /passholder-fares-glacier-express it says one can travel on it once we have a swiss pass booked for consecutive days

Do we pay extra charge for booking on Glacier express as per http://www.happyrail.com/en/p ass/europe/switzerland /swiss-travel-pass-consecutive

Seat reservations on the Glacier Express are mandatory and additional to the Swiss Travel Pass coverage. If you buy here you can select seats (which is not possible at Happyrail). You don’t need to have already purchased your pass to secure seats. Just nominate that you will use a pass.

I am trying to reserve 4 seats on Glacier Express 1st class for August 19th. Every time I select 4 seats to reserve and go to checkout, it comes back and says “at this time only seats can be reserved. Tickets can be purchased only 2 months in advance”. I am not trying to buy the tickets, only reserve 4 seats. We will all have the Swiss travel pass and wont need the tickets.

I tried putting several different things in the Reduction section when i entered travel information – tied putting Swiss travel pass, just traveler and and also tried with putting in that I already have a ticket – yet it does not work.

Am I doing something wrong?

Someone else reported a problem trying to book for August. I just tried it for a date in July and it works fine. Also works for 15 August so maybe you are just at the limit of when bookings open. Give it another try tomorrow.

I’ve seen that message you mentioned in the past, but it was just a warning to people who also want tickets. Are you sure you can’t just continue with your order? Is something actually stopping you from proceeding?

Hello Arno,

once I fill in all

passrnger details and go to the next page, it asks me to select the meal and once I hit next – it brings me back to page 1 and gives me error that only seats can be reserved. The total amount shows $172 – which is the cost of 4 seat reservation only. Not sure if the website has a glitch. Can you try buying for August 19th and see if you receive that error too?

Hi Shradha,

I tried the 8:52 train from Zermatt to St. Moritz on August 19 (2nd class) for Swiss Travel Pass holders. It works fine until the step before paying. I don’t see issues other than the website being a little slow sometimes (when loading the number of available seats), and the warning which can be ignored. I got the same amount, CHF 172, which is correct for 4 reservations.

If it does not work for you, you can try another browser (I am on Chrome) or order via https://www.happyrail. com/en/pass/europe/swi tzerland/passholder-fares-glacier-express.

Hello Arno,

How do you indicate that you are Swiss Travel Pass holder. Do you select that in the Reduction drop down of the passenger information? What should I select for my 14 year old son? Should I select Swiss Family Pass for him?
