What lake are you talking about? Most Swiss lakes (not all, though) are free with the STP. You simply board the boat and show the STP.

    Hi ivanlwh!

As Trainliner mentioned, regular boat trips on Switzerland’s major lakes don’t have to be booked. You just get on board and show your Swiss Travel Pass if asked for. Only special cruises, such as dinner themes or sunset trips, require booking in advance. Can you let us know which specific 1-hour trip you’re referring to?

You’ll find boat rides over the main lakes here: http://www.myswissalps.com/activities/scenictrips/boat.

How to use the Swiss Travel Pass is described at https://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/howtouse. And the lakes that are covered are listed at https://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity.
