Hi there. We’ve got Swiss Travel Passes and have booked on the Gotthard Express Lucern to Lugarno on 27 July 2018.

We’re staying in Interlaken so need to get from Interlaken to Lucern that morning to get the boat at 11.12am.

Does anyone know if we can get the Golden Line express panoramic train from Interlaken to Lucern in time to get the Gotthard boat? And if so, how do we book this train with our passes? I can only find to book it on Rail Europe and when I select with Swiss Pass it still says we have to pay $56 each. Is it not included in the Swiss Pass?

If not the panoramic train, is there another option? Regular train for free with our passes?

    Any info much appreciated, thanks.

Hi the Golden Pass Train from Lucerne to Interlaken is on an hourly basis . if you take the 9 am train should be good . We did the trip last week. There is no need for any booking . You can just travel free with the Swiss Pass .

You can plan the trip with the Swiss railways timetable: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable
You can take the 08:04 or 09:04 from Interlaken Ost (if the later train walk straight to the boat dock but 20 minutes connection time is fine – or if you want a leisurely arrival take the 08:04).

There is no need to book or reserve that train – just hop on with your Swiss Travel Pass.
