Could you tell me if the train station at Brig has a full service counter? Can we buy a 4 day swiss travel pass at this station as we are entering the country at this location? Also can you confirm that the transport to the Schilthorn is completely covered by this pass as of this year?

    Thank you, Lori

    Hello Lori,

Yes Brig is a major transport hub so it has full service.

Presume you are coming from Italy. Why not buy your Swiss Travel Pass on-line and print at home. Then you can use it from the Swiss border at Domodossola.

Yes Schilthorn is covered fully. Refer to validity map at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity.

Our last leg out of Italy is Milan to Brig. Is there a reason not to buy this pass at the station in Brig? What happens if a pass is lost? Can they be replaced? and if you buy online or at the station does this change things or make things easier if this were to occur?

If you buy a pass at the station and subsequently lose it then you would need to buy another one.

If you have a print at home version you can carry additional paper and electronic copies with you.

If you have the STP with you on arrival in Switzerland you only need a ticket for Milan to Domodossola. From there the STP kicks in. If you have already bought a ticket from Milan to Brig then that reason becomes irrelevant.

Indeed, there is no bad reason to buy the Swiss Travel Pass online! Having backup copies can be priceless & not needing to get off the train at Brig to buy the pass is just convenient. 🙂
