Upon checking a route from Pontresina to Bellinzona I see that there is compulsory reservations for a section that is by bus, with phone numbers and a postauto link, but upon going to that website it says nothing about reservations. How would you go about getting a seat reservation when you want to travel in this scenario?

    Hi Debra,

I use this website for bus reservations: http://www.postauto.ch/en/tic kets-and-reservations.

Does this help and were you able to find what you’re looking for?

    Hi Debra,

They have a reservation link on http://www.postauto.ch/en/exc ursion-tips/thusis-spluegen-s-bernardino-linie, but it does not work. You can best e-mail them: thusis@postbus.ch.

Another option is the Palm Express bus from St. Moritz to Lugano (then by train to Bellinzona). The reservation link on http://www.postauto.ch/en/exc ursion-tips/palm-express does work. This route might be a bit quicker, but you’d need to double check that.

Thanks Arno! But that reserve now button links to “page not found” as well. No worries though, I’m sure someone at the hostel I’m staying at in Pontresina can help when I’m ready to get the reservation. I’m ending my trip with a change of scenery from mountains, and I am also thinking of squeezing Lugano in there as well, the hostel there looks amazing! Whomever suggested the youth hostel system to me in another thread I have to thank immensely for, it’s such a cheap option in areas with little or no camping options, and many look so nice!

If you plan to come back to Switzerland on a subsequent visit to the one you are currently planning, you might want to consider the Saas-Fee area, and the youth hostel there.

Should you be interested, there are some photos of that hostel attached to my post of Oct 5, 2017 – 2:13 AM on the following page:

The official page for the hostel is here:

This link for reservations on that route is working.

PostBus reservations differ a bit from those for trains:

    • They are free
    • They guarantee you will have a seat on the bus, but are not for a specific seat, so you can choose any vacant seat you like when you board.
