hello,
we are traveling to switzerland from the 24th nov to the 2nd dec.
fly in 6am, train straight to bern.
bern: 24-26
leave early 26 and train to montreax.
goldenpass montreax to interlaken the 9:44 looks to be the panoramic
train interlaken to lauterbrunnen (runs every 30 min)
lauterbrunnen:26-28 (we know not much will be open. we have an airbnb with a kitchen and are prepared to eat from the grocery store.)
train lauterbrunnen to interlaken, interlaken to luzern.
luzern: 28-30 (late)
evening train to zurich.
zurich: 30-2
early morning train to the airport.
for that amount of train travel, do you think the swiss pass is worth it? we have 4 total days of train travel. do the discounts on museums, excursions etc count on your non travel days? you have to book goldenpass reservations anyways. the 4 day flex pass is approx 323 swiss francs. i’m just wondering if it is worth it for that much travel over such short distances. if we didn’t get the swiss pass, it looks like we book the goldenpass reservations from a different site than we book the actual train ticket.

You will likely travel every day, so I don’t think a 4-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex makes sense. It depends on the exact day trips you have planned though. Scenic train reservations are always separate, and where/how you book them isn’t different for pass holders. Reservations are optional for the Golden Pass route: http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass/tickets.
