I was looking at the Swiss travel pass but it does not say anywhere that it covers the cable cars around Lauterbrunnen Murren, Wenger etc. Are the cable cars included? I know the Bernese Oberland pass does but as we are travelling in other areas before and after it would have made sense to get a 15 day Swiss Pass. What do you think? Thanks Sue

Most cable cars are discount – not free – with a STP. The major exception to this general rule is the Lauterbrunnen – Grütschalp cable car as it is an integral section of the ‘national network’ so works slightly differently to other purely tourist cable cars

Look at the map at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity. Stechelberg to Gimmelwald to Mürren to Schilthorn is free with STP.
