Hey, I really want to try out the Zermatt skiing. Is it possible to stay in/really close to the town in a campervan? Are there electricity points?

Hello Mcmillania and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

It's wonderful to hear you're heading to Zermatt for skiing and also wonderful to see how much we learn when travelling..and preparing!

I'm not a skier myself anymore and have never thought about camping in winter, but found the below list of winter campings near Zermatt, some of them apparently even offering shuttle trains for skiers…?!?!

For more general input about Zermatt and surroundings and also about camping in general see:

Hope this helps. Get back to us anytime for more input.

Tourist road vehicles are not allowed into Zermatt so no, you can't stay in a Campervan near the town itself. The limit of the road is Täsch. There are various camp sites down the valley below Täsch
