Where are some places I can pitch my tent within the Interlaken área: Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Grindewald and up in Schynige Platte, First and Grosse Scheidegg? What are the costs?

Hi Paulus,

check at www.myswissalps.com/campsites, if you scroll down a bit you'll find useful links (under "More on other websites") regarding the camping sites in Switzerland and also the wild camping opportunities.

Some similar previous threads: www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/camping-through-switzerland and www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/the-best-camping-sites-in-and-around-grindelwald.

I hope this helps you. If not or need further advice, please come back to us.

I recommend these pages too about the region:

Thank you Ildiko!

I studied extensively the links provided and concluded that these two are most pertinent to camping sites in Lauterbrunnen + Grindelwald area:

Lauterbrunnen, Stechelberg, Gimmelwald, Lütschental and, naturally, Interlaken have camping premises. You need to get familiar with lots Oberland location names to identify the ones within the area.

I have been only to the one in Innertkirchen so far and it is called Aareschlucht Camping. It is a bit further from the Jungfrau region, although not that far. I can recommend that one, it is a smaller one, but very very close to Aare Gorge (actually Aareschlucht means that in German). The bathing facilities were very clean and the owners are very nice. The only problem, that is a bit close to the main road, where motors were a bit loud during the day (the nights were ok).

You can search for camping places on the Google maps too, I usually check the reviews there (for other accommodations too).

I found this now, have a look at this one too: jungfrauregion.swiss/en/summer/eat-and-stay/camping/

I hope you can find a great one for your holiday. I love camping but I have a bit more experience in other countries. So far :)
