We are a couple with 3 kids below 8yrs. We will travel from Venice to Luzern on 3 July and expect to arrive around 1400hrs. We will buy family STP. In the afternoon, we plan to do Rigi Scenic trip. Will it be feasible to go at 1600 and comeback same day from Rigi Kulm given the distance covered by boat and train? Does the STP cover the full Rigi tour?

Please note that we will stay Luzern 3 nights and plan to visit mount Pilatus, Titlis, Bern & Lucerne lake boat trip. Then move to Wengen. We will stay 11 nights in Switzerland.

Welcome to MySwissAlps AslamHabib!

It can be done if you take the 16:12 boat. With a change in Vitznau it will get you to the top of the Rigi at 17:47. There are trains back down until 20:00. The timetable offers all the details. Everything is included in the Swiss Travel Pass.

Note that you can buy the Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Family Card online and print them at home. That will save you time upon arrival. Please see myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/price.

Have fun!

Thank you very much, Arno. Yes, we will buy the STP online before arrival.

Hi Chandraks,

From Rigi Kulm, one can return by train via Arth-Goldau as I understand. And train runs until 20:00hrs from Rigi Kulm and until midnight from Arth-Goldau.
