    Hello

Thank you for this forum service, it is very helpful in preparing for a trip to Switzerland.

Is it common to carry alpine skis on the rail system? Is there typically adequate luggage space for skis and equipment on trains?

My family is taking a ski trip to multiple locations in Switzerland in Feb 2018. I’m trying to decide if we should carry our alpine equipment as luggage or rent equipment at different locations. We usually travel with skis.

    Regards,

    Patrick

    Hi Corkpk,

Yes, the trains here are definitely equipped to held you skis and if you are used to traveling with them (and want to use your own) you should have no issues. Of course there may be quite a few others with skis on the train with you in which case room could be limited.

When using the train timetable, try and avoid the busier trains (denoted with 3 people in red) under the capacity tab.
