Question for those who have visited Switzerland recently. We are visiting in September. Do most places accept cash or mostly contactless? We were in the UK in the spring and it was almost exclusively contactless. Thank you!

Mostly contactless. We got some CHF at an ATM when we got to Zurich, but we barely used them during our trip.

    Hi Jrzgrl,

Both methods of payments are accepted. But it’s useful to have some cash on you if you’re visiting small villages and mountain destinations.

UK and Switzerland are the same – you can use cash or card or contactless in most locations. One or two places might be over-fastidious about Covid and demand contactless only but that is rare.
