Hello,
is it safe to hike Charles Kounen suspension bridge around this time in the rain (Nov 2019)?
We’re here in Interlaken and would like to travel to Randa to do the hike.
Thanks!
Sunnie

Hi Sunnie,
I find different information on different pages regarding the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge, one page says it closes end of October, the other one says the circle walk from Randa over the bridge is open.

SunnieandlesParticipant23 posts6 November 2019 at 9:56:06 #924587Hello everyone,
Charles Kounen suspension bridge is open! We just hiked it yesterday and it was such a gorgeous hike. The Europaweg hike is closed but the bridge is open. The top of the mountain is covered in snow but the path is still very visible- the bridge had some snow on it but not totally covered. I believe if you hike the next few days, you’ll be okay. We hiked without trekking poles and they were doable- we did have good hiking boots though. It was really cold and windy in the middle of the bridge so bring layers. We felt very safe going through the bridge- maybe a little bit of rain and snow going up but we did not get soaked at all. Have fun!

thanks for the report, I would like to see some photos too.
Do you have technical issues? Try to upload pictures smaller than 1 Mb, it should work. Do you get any error messages?
Thanks
SunnieandlesParticipant23 posts6 November 2019 at 13:06:39 #924591Yes I was getting error messages…

SunnieandlesParticipant23 posts6 November 2019 at 20:18:27 #924599You’re welcome! And I did forget to mention that the hike up itself was gorgeous! Different shades of brown and yellow and then trees covered in snow the more you get to the top- it was really glorious! From the bridge you can see snow on one side and then more of the fall colors on the other side- truly amazing!
