I will be traveling to Switzerland this September to attend a camp in Our Chalet in Adelboden Oey.

I will be coming through Geneva airport and traveling by trains and buses to adelboden. (Round trip)

As a student I’m trying to cut the cost as much as I can.

The cheapest option I have found is the Saver Pass, which will cost me 54 one way and 54 going back so 108 CHF in total.

my question is, is it really that simple, do all I need to do to cut the cost is buy the Saver Pass instead of the normal ticket?

And is there an even cheaper option?

Greeting Hanaikomi and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

That’s it. Simple isn’t it. Just make sure you buy them early enough (from 60 days out) to ensure you get the best price. They get more expensive as your travel date approaches. Just show you pass on whatever mode of transport you are on.

See Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass and bit.ly/2rkekat) for details. If you have the SBB mobile app on your phone you can buy using that. It will even confirm it is the best “fare”.

okay so the saver day pass doesn’t specify a certain route, I can simply use it to travel a whole day on any pub transportation, correct?

so that means I still have to figure out what trains or buses to take to reach my destination, correct?

and if so do I have to fill it in on the ticket I printed out?

Take any route you like. Hop on any public transport you like and just show the pass when requested. No need to write anything down except as a reminder for you to make the right connections.

Use the timetable on the SBB website (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) or the highly-recommended SBB Mobile app (bit.ly/2ICIUHi) to plan your travel.

    Hi Haniakomi!

This page explains how the Saver Day Pass works: http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass. Are you planning to use public transportation on other days during your camp attendance as well? If so, you might be better off using one of the other rail passes. This issue is addressed at http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass/details.
