Hi, the train fare from Wengen to Jungfraujoch is very expensive. Do children below 16 have to pay like their parents if their parents hold a Swiss Travel Pass or Half Fare Card? Or is it still free for children like to Titlis or Mt Pilatus? Thanks.

    Hello Alison86,

The children under 16 travel for free to the Jungfraujoch if you hold one of the rail passes you mention above with a valid discounted ticket (if needed) PLUS the free Swiss Family Card. The same is true for Titlis and Pilatus, but you NEED to have the Family Card.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply but I’m still a little confused. I don’t understand what you meant by having a valid discounted ticket (if needed).

    Hi Alison86,

Please make sure to check all the tabs in above links to get all the information provided.

E.g. you will need discounted tickets for all the destinations you mention (mountains) and then the child travels for free with you. E.g. you will find a “discounted ticket to Mt.Titlis (Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card)” purchase option in the “packages” tab of above links.

FYI, you can’t buy a discounted ticket for Mount Pilatus in advance, you just do so upon arrival (at the counter) and then set off on your journey.
