I will be traveling from Montreux to Lucerne in September. It appears that I will have a choice of 3routes, with a time difference of 40 minutes. One route travels from Spiez-Thun-Konolfingen-Langnau IE-Luzern. Also, Spiez-Interlaken Ost-Luzern and the other route is Spiez-Bern-Luzern. I don’t think we will want to stop and spend time in Bern, but not sure how scenic that route might be. Pictures online of Langnau IE look like that might be a scenic area. Any advice appreciated!

    Hello Jlynecoop,

The most scenic route is generally considered to be the Golden Pass Line (http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass). So that’s Spiez-Interlaken Ost-Luzern alongside Lakes Thun and Brienz and over the Brünig Pass.

Via Langnau takes you through some beautiful rural Emmenthal countryside.
