We will be arriving in July. I will be purchasing 8 day Swiss pass. When we arrive in Zurich on Saturday it will be late afternoon…plans are to tour the city Sunday then head to Wengen Monday for 5 nights then to Lucerne area 2 nights then last night hack to Zurich to fly out early next morning. Looking for recommendations for traveling around Zurich for the day. We know we want to see the FIFA museum, the Famous BAnk street (sorry I couldn’t find the spelling for it.).

I’m looking for recommendations for 1. City pass or single day pass

2. would the Jungfrau multi-day pass be better than the 8 day Swiss travel pass?

Welcome to MySwissAlps! The city center of Zurich is quite small and everything is at walking distance. You may not need a transport pass, but if you want one, the ZurichCARD might be worth it since it includes transportation and various attractions: http://www.myswissalps.com/zurich/travel.

The Jungfrau Travel Pass would probably not be better for you, because it only covers a small area, and not Lucerne. Please find all details here:

I am no expert at all, but I have been working on the price comparisons for my own upcoming trip. You might want to also compare the costs for the 8-day Swiss pass vs. a combination of a multi-day Berner Oberland Regional pass along with possibly a Half Fare card. The Berner Oberland pass includes a larger geographic area all the way to Lucerne. I have been calculating the savings on all the mountain excursions that are included at 100% (exceptions Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch that are reduced with either pass). But pricey trips like Wengen to Männlichen cablecar, Grindelwald – First cablecar, Wilderswil – Schynige Platte cog railway and others are all free with the Bernese Oberland or Jungfrau passes. My understanding is the reduction with Swiss pass on those non-rail trips is 50%.

The coordination of activities or our wish lists of places to visit with the transportation is the only piece of our trip I can’t wrap my head around. Thank you for input.
