    hi Pankaj94,

we will be doing same process in july, so please let us know your experience. I am also taking binaxnow kits with me as plan A and plan B is doing covid test. Any information (process, location and price of covid test)you pass to follow travellers will be useful. thanks. So many things are changing day to day and rules are changing. it is very hard to keep up with these all info.

Anybody in this forum who recently went back to USA? Where did you get your Covid Test? Does anybody know if the test sites accept US medical insurance? Anybody heard about Verifly?

    Thanks BMCAR

I plan to carry test kits from ihealthlabs.com as Plan A and local testing in Lucerne as Plan B. If anyone has info on how much antigen test costs in Lucerne please share.

    Hi Pankaj94,

I’ve made a quick search and according to that, it costs 47 CHF. (For example here (in German): http://www.synlab.ch/neuigkeiten/2022/04/04/covid-testcenter-deutschschweiz).

More test points can be found here (in the first post): http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/does-the-corona-virus-affect-trips-to-switzerland

If you have a question on Sim card you should start a new thread versus tagging along on this thread.

Hi- my friend recently went back to USA. She used the covid testing center at Zurich Airport. The company name is Viselio. You need to register online

She opted for the Antigen Rapid test which is free. She only paid 19Chf which was for the travel certificate. I plan to use the one in Zurich City on the 28th. Will keep everybody posted.

Also you need to complete the attestation form and also the contact information form within 72 hours for your airline before departure. The covid antigen test has to be done no longer than 24 hours before departure. Hope everything goes well!

PS. There is one in Lucerne, too. It is near McDonalds near the train station. I saw it today. It is a different company.

Thanks for sharing this useful information.

It’s good to know that travellers have the option for a free antigen test at the Zurich Airport.

I found the link here: http://www.viselio.com/en/location/zurich-airport

Thanks Anna and others on this thread.

I did go the link you gave for Zurich airport.

    The website say:

    ====================

    Free Antigen rapid test

Do you need your test for travel purposes?

    Add On

    International Travel Certificate

This certificate is required for most travel destinations and contains all necessary information such as your passport/ID number, medical partner, test method, product description, etc. 19 CHF

    ====================

As you can see, there is an 19 CHF charge for an International Travel Certificate

As me too leaving for USA (Boston) – can someone suggest if Free Antigen rapid test – is ok for US travel? It says this test result will be given in 15-45 minutes. Or need we take the International Travel Certificate with 19 CHF charge.

    thanks for the replies.

    Hi sanjeev,

The test is free. But the travel certificate which proves you have taken the test and shows your test results cost CHF19. I think this is a reasonable amount.

    Hi Sanjeev,

An update on Covid Test requirement for US entry.

We had our covid test done at Viselio, Zurich Airport location on May 28. We had our test done at 1201 pm, 24 hours before our flight on May 29 which was 1145 am. It took less than 15 minutes for the result to show in our email. They were nice enough to also print it. The antigen test was free, but we paid 19 CHF for the travel certificate. Since we were traveling via American Airlines, we uploaded our travel certificate and attestation statement via Verifly. Using verifly was free, and has a special lane, faster and shorter line, at the check in counter.

    Thanks a million bmcar

My flight to Boston is at 5.30pm and the previous night I am at Luzern.

I will be booking (with above link) at about 11am (will reach Zurich airport by 10am) Will this be ok? I can see that the Free test is 15-30 minutes. Not sure that 19 chf will also be given in same time.

    Thanks for your update again

Sanjeev, if you are in Luzern, try to check out the covid test center near Mc Donalds restaurant. It is across the train station. My husband inquired there and he was told that antigen test is free. But he failed to ask if they provide acceptable travel certificate for a fee. That might save you some time.

    Thanks Bmcar1

I e-mailed my hotel Central Luzern, and told them about test center near to McDonald., and they sent me this http://www.coronatest24.ch/ . I am not sure, if this is the same you are talking about. But I find that they are asking 146 chf – too expensive.

Zurich Airport: I just wanted to know that I will be doing advance booking and paying 19 CHF, will I get Certificate in my mail, in 30 minutes? I will reach Zurich airport at 11am for my flight at 5.30pm flight.

A week back I have mailed to the Viselio ( link provided by Anna above http://www.viselio.com/en/location/zurich-airport), but no reply from them.
