    Hi there!

We are visiting Zermatt for a day will reach in the morning around 10 AM. We are looking for some suggestion on how to spend a day there. We have potentially shortlisted following options:

    (1) Sunnegga Plateau and Grindjisee Lake.

    (2) Gornergrat. Are there any small trail to feel the area or lake nearby. Will it be pleasant enough to stroll around.

    (3) Stroll around in village and possibly do museum if it is open by the time we are back. Would you recommend anything else here or add / modify.

    Thanks much

    Regards

    Hi sgandhi73,

Do you have all day or are you leaving that night?

I’ve been to Sunnegga and thought it was a nice area but haven’t done any hiking there. The more popular option is Gornergrat or Klein Matterhorn. The train for Gornergrat is right across from the train station; so very easy to get to and then spend the afternoon there and then leave on a train that day if that is what you are doing.

Thanks much Lucas. Much appreciated your responses. We are staying over night and planning to take Glacier express next day morning so entire day at disposal.

We are thinking of doing the Sunnegga as soon as arrive and head to Gornergrat post lunch session. We are touring Titlis and Jungfrau so did not think of going all the way to Klein Matterhorn.

Could we know the differences between Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn. Based on our read, Klein Matterhorn was higher up and may have snow around. We are looking for more views and may be small walking trail to feel the area if that option is available at Gornergrat.

Considering limited time, are these two worth doing activities?

    Regards

I would go to Sunnegga first and see how the day/hikes go and how you feel. If you want to go up another mountain I’d choose Gornergrat
