Day trip from Zurich to Lucerne or Stein Am Rhein?

    I’m trying to compare which of the above would be the better day trip to do for after 12pm on a Saturday in April. I’ll be from Zurich City. Here’s the rest of my itinerary in Switzerland

    day 1-Zurich with day trip(Lucerne (mt pilatus) or stein am Rhein with Rhein Falls)

    day 2- Zurich

    day 3 – Grindelwald

    day 4- First Cliff Walk activities

    day 5 – Jungfraujoch

    day 6- Interlaken

    Simce I’ll be looking at alps day 3 and 4. Which would you suggest a day trip for day 1?

    Hi Sai771,

    Tough call indeed. It depends on how interesting Mt. Pilatus looks to you (or the city of Lucerne itself). Stein am Rhein is a nice town near Zurich – you can read about my trip there last summer if it helps – here.

    For a first time visitor I’d probably go with a visit to Lucerne and possible add Mt. Pilatus or Mt. Titlis or Mt. Rigi; over Stein am Rhein.
