    Hello there,

we are a group of 6 women travelling the Bernina line in may and we plan to spend three days in pontresina. Could someone suggest walks/easy hikes. Will diavolezza be open in first week of may?

Wait until you are in Pontresina and you will see what the terrain is like and be able to find out about all the walking paths locally, buy walking maps etc.

The best way to walk in the Engadine area of Switzerland is to walk parallel to the Rhaetian railway routes, then if decide you have had enough yo get a train from the nearest station back to where you started. There are some good walks Pontresina – Samedan and in the Muottas Muragl area, also to St Moritz

It is usually still snowy up at Diavolezza in May

Largely irrelevant to your question but RHB even have a Bernina Diavolezza Express these days – http://www.rhb.ch/en/tickets-travelcards/promotions /bernina-diavolezza-express/. Just saying. 😉
