As far as I’m aware it is an online promotion only. You could order it online and ask for pick-up in Wengen though.

But if you want it immediately you might need to just go in an get it on the spot rather than order online. They may be able to incorporate the promotion code there but they aren’t official Traveler’s WiFi staff.

Any inputs on Salt prepay sim with unlimited data for 10 days for 10CHF? You could potentially insert that SIM in unlocked android phone, turn on hotspot and get unlimited data on other devices. I know this is little bit tech-savvy but easy to do by anyone.

A quick update on our wifi experience. We picked one up from the Wengen Tourist Information Centre this morning.

It was good except ran out of charge after about half an hour. As we picked it up and went for the day out it was a bit frustrating as we had to wait till we got back to our accommodation to charge it ( where we had wifi anyway). On the plus side it seemed to work really well when it had some charge however we were told that it was fully charged when we picked it up. Therefore we’ve paid for a day when we couldn’t use it. On the upside, it will be great over the next few days.

So my advice would be to charge it after you pick it up – if you can.

Hi Lucas & Arno,

Another quick update on our wifi experience. As mentioned previously, it works really well but we had an issue the first day as it only had about 30 minutes charge. Well I awoke this morning to an email from the travellers wifi people – they had read my feedback on the wifi and were able to track me down from the pick up location and date. They refunded me a day hire on the wifi unit! That is great service and I was very impressed. It was only 7 francs but the gesture was worth a lot more. Would recommend this device to all.

Firstly, thank you for the info about this WiFi device. We’re still shopping around for options but it seems this may be a good option to consider.

Question about charging the device (since I read someone posted about running out of power). Can it be charged using power bank? We always carry multiple power banks to charge our smart phones.

Hi BamT,

Yes, you can charge it via a power bank with a micro USB cable. I never needed that option since you can press the off button if you don’t need it for a while. But if you need to have it enabled all the time it runs out of power after 5 to 6 hours, and you can recharge it. A wall charger is included for when you’re back in your accommodation.

Hi, I wanted to share my experience with salt mobile pre paid data sim card that I purchased at zurich airport when I visited Switzerland last week.

It costed me 10 chf and is capable to provide unlimited internet for upto 10 days. I put that sim card in an unlocked android phone and turned on mobile hotspot. That way I was able to share internet on 4 of my devices. It worked flawlessly for me for 5 days of my stay. I think I saved about 40 chf by going this route compared to renting a hotspot. Just wanted to share my experience with this salt mobile cheaper option of mobile hotspot.
