I am travelling to Switzerland at the end of July with my partner and two children aged 2 and 12 years and am confused by the range of rail passes!

I was planning to buy the Interrail One Country pass for me and my partner, but am unsure whether I need to buy our son (12 years old) a Youth pass or whether we can just buy him the Junior travel card as he will always be travelling with us.

Any clarification you can give would be much appreciated!

Hi Ebaker27 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Your 12 year old will need to youth version of the Interrail pass – click here to read more. Only children up to 11 can travel free with you unfortunately.
    Your youngest is free.
