That’s correct. The 2nd test performed between day 4 and 7 after arrival can be either a PCR test or a rapid antigen test. The 1st test that has to be done before entry to Switzerland has to be a PCR test. We’ve updated our information about this in the 1st post of this thread. A passport would certainly be fine to request for the certificate. You should normally receive confirmation within 5 working days (please refer to #5 in the 1st post of this thread).

Yes, there are many test locations in Switzerland accessible to tourists. You can use the link under “Important notes” at http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/does-the-corona-virus-affect-trips-to-switzerland to find locations in or near your base town(s). You’ll have to pay for the tests yourself, and I’m not sure it the costs are covered by the GHIC. I suggest you contact them to make sure.

Processing a certificate request can take about 5 working days, so I’d apply earlier than that if I were you. About 10 days would be a safe time frame I think.

A PCR test may cost roughly between CHF 100 and CHF 190, a rapid antigen test between CHF 35 and CHF 80. But prices will differ per location and also depend on how quickly you need results.

Im trying to make a COVID test appointment on my 5th day after arrival but the appointment forms that I have seen are asking me for my health card number. I can’t leave on blank this field. Can I use my travel health insurance number? Can I just walk in? Thanks.

Does our Swiss certificate work in other EU countries like Italy? Or do we need to apply for separate Italian green vaccine cards? Are the Swiss ONLY valid in Switzerland?

Hi sjomishkin,

If you received one of the vaccines approved by the EMA (European Medicines Agency), you will be issued with a Swiss COVID certificate that is valid in EU member countries. For those jabbed with vaccines not authorised by Swissmedic or EMA but approved by the WHO (such as Sinovac and Sinopharm), the Swiss COVID certificate is only valid in Switzerland.

Welcome to MySwissAlps.

Some test centres do accept walk-ins. However it’s recommended to make prior appointments to avoid long queues. And it’s quite common for test centres to request for your health insurance no. In your case, you should provide your travel health insurance details, if you have one.

Wonderful! So our Swiss COVID certificates we were issued for having gotten then Pfizer vaccine will work in Italy as well, so I don’t need to apply for any more certificates.

That’s right.. Since you received the Pfizer vaccine, you will be issued with a Swiss COVID certificate that is also recognised in Italy. However be sure to check out the latest travel requirements in Italy. It seems like the measures have been tightened recently.

Still I don’t know what to write when the field is asking for a 80756XXXXXXXXXXX number… I found one forum on the internet that recommended to write zeroes after 80756 for foreign nationals… I can try to do that… hope it works… I have only the travel insurance. Can the pharmacy deny the covid test because you don’t have a Swiss health card?

I have same problem with Jorodri. I tried to find online appointment for Covid testing in Zermatt from 22-25, i could not find any slot available.

then i also look up lauterbrunnen and interlaken on 22-27 also no online appointment available.

hope anyone can share input, if they will increase the testing center. between day 4 to day 7 happen to be for me is Christmas week.
