    Hi,

This is our first trip to Europe. My wife and 2 children (10 years) I will travel from France – Switzerland – Italy by train in the middle of Feb 2018 (next 10 days) with the itinerary as followings:

    Day 1 – 3: In Paris

    Day 4: Paris – Bern

    Day 5: Bern – Interlaken – Jungfrau

    Day 6: Interlaken – Lucern

    Day 7: Lucern – Zurich

    Day 8: Zurich – Milan

    Day 9: Milan – Venice

    Day 10: Venice – Pisa – Florence

    Day 11: Florence – Rome

    Day 12: In Rome

We would like to have your advice to the below issues:

    1. Can we use the Eurail Select Pass for all the above itinerary? If not, which is not applicable? Do we need to buy Swiss Pass or Half Fare Card in addtion?

    2. Swiss Pass vs Half Fare Card : which one is more saving and convenient to the itinerary? Other suggestion?

I am highly appreciative to your help. Many thanks

Hi huynie and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    1. The Eurail Select Pass will cover your trips Switzerland except to Jungfraujoch (the pass gets you 25% off the ticket cost between Interlaken and Jungfraujoch. You can read about discounts and see a PDF map of the train routes covered by the Eurail pass covers here.
    2. If you want to look at the Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card for your Swiss portion of the trip and compare costs you’ll need to plan out all your trips in Switzerland, find prices, and compare costs. We have a page on how to choose the best rail pass with a spreadsheet to help you.
