We are coming in from the US and saw on the SBB wrbsite there are family cards where children are free accompanied by adults. Was unable to purchase online since the delivery date would be while we are in Switzerland. Is this card available to purchase when we are in Switzerland or was it only offered online. Thsnk you

    Welcome 69saltis!

Actually the Swiss Family Card can’t be purchased as a standalone product. It is an add-on to Swiss Travel System passes, so you need to have such a pass to get it. If you have one, it is free, either online or at a staffed station. If you don’t have one, you can’t obtain this card.

If you go to the web shop of the SBB at http://www.swissrailways.com/ en you will be able to select the pass you need, enter passenger ages and select the Swiss Family Card. After filling out your address, they will show the delivery options. Pick “Online Ticket” from the bottom of the list. They will e-mail the pass and the card within 1-3 business days (no delivery fees), so you can print them at home.

    Hi 69saltis,

If you are going to get the Swiss Travel Pass at a railway station once you arrive in Switzerland you can get the Swisss Family Pass at the same time.
