Hi I am traveling from US in May, I am 25 and I am bringing my niece that is 15 and lives with me, I was wondering if i can still use the free family card for her since I will be her guardian since her parents will not be on this trip or will I need to buy her a child’s pass? Thanks in advance!

Hi Mells92 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You would have to be the legal guardian (adopted or step) of your niece for the Swiss Family Card (along with your Swiss Rail Pass.

Otherwise you need the Children’s Co-Travel Card (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/discounts) which is offered at a low 30chf for all your niece’s travel (as long as you have a valid rail pass or ticket).
