    HI, I´m from Argentina.

I would like to spend 4 days with my family in a ski resort next January 2020. I´m looking for:

    – Ski resort with very good weather and with many sunny days. I would appreciate any information about sunniest ski resorts in Switzerland

    – Budget option in terms of accomodation, ski lifts, ski classes.Half board accomodation will me better.

    – We also need a good childcare option to leave my 3 years son. Will be better if they teach ski and entertainment him.

    – Do I need winter tires to driving in Switzerland?

    Thanks a lot!

    Pedro

Hello Pedro and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Nice to hear you’re coming along for skiing.

It’s hard to categorise ski resorts into sunny vs not-sunny, as in the mountains the weather can be very volatile and hard to predict. All alpine regions have approximately the same climat/weather.

Famous ski resorts are, among others:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/st Moritz
    – Lenzerheide, bei Chur

You will find accommodation recommendations in all of the three places as well as other, helpful information.

Regarding driving in Switzerland, YES you will need, even be obliged by law, to drive with winter tyres. See below link for helpful information below:

    Best,
    Steph

“All alpine regions have approximately the same climat/weather. “

Not quite true in the context of this question, as Zermatt (and other Canton Valais resorts) is noted for being on average sunnier than other Swiss ski resorts

Skiing in Switzerland is not known as being a ‘budget’ option – Switzerland is a very expensive place to ski.

One way to ‘ski in Switzerland’ on a budget is to stay on the Italian side of the Matterhorn (ie Cervinia)

Approximately, as in – you are in the same country and will have the same kind of weather within a certain area with of course some local differences, which you can’t forecast!
