When we come down we will be going all the way to Grindelwald so I’m looking for the fastest way, not most scenic. Suggestions? Thanks for your help as always

    Hello Bunkapass,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps!

The fastest way from Rigi Kaltbad is with the Luftseibahn to Interlaken. This takes a total of 4 hours and 3 minutes, one way. Please refer to the SBB train timetable and our page about routes to/from Rigi:

    I hope that helps!

    Best regards,

    Suzanne

Not much difference in time if you go down via the cable car to Weggis or train to Vitznau. So probably depends on which way you went up and whether you want some variety on the way down.

Beware that although this is the quickest, it includes the steep walk down the hill from the Weggis cable car station to the bus stop. The ‘fewest changes’ quickest route is train down to Vitznau and boat to Luzern but this only works a few times a day.

Very ironically, this is one of the few journeys where the fastest route is also the most scenic!
