Am I correct in that you plan to have 6 bases in 15 days? Or are some of the cities day trips from other base cities?

    Dear Angel7105,

Switzerland is pretty small you can cover a few cities in a day. Personally I would recommend going straight to Lucerne and spending more days in the Jungfrau region, using Interlaken as your base.

    Skip Zurich for last.

From Interlaken, you can reach Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald in 45 mins and Bern about 1 hour. It makes sense to stay in Interlaken if you wish to explore more places in the Jungfrau region

The train from Bern to Zermatt will take approximately 2 hours. Meanwhile the train from Zermatt to Zurich is about 3.5 hours. Based on your itinerary, I think you will have more than enough time to explore Zermatt and Zurich.

Be sure to read this if you’re not sure the of validity of your Swiss Travel Pass

    Hi Angel7105 –

Mid-May is the tail end of Winter in the higher altitudes of the Jungfrau Region. Trails above 2000, maybe even 1500, meters will be snow covered. There are trails at lower altitudes, but they lack the spectacular views of the higher ones.

Depending on your specific interests, some things that you might wish to do will be unavailable in that region. Maybe Zermatt, too….

What are your interests, and what had you planned to do on May 15th through 18th?

Some things will certainly be be available.
