Hi folks,

I found some old threads about this topic but would like some more recent info.My pregnant wife, our 1 year old daughter and I have an overnight layover in Geneva. We have a hotel about 10 minutes from the airport and given we are getting in around 9pm, I’d rather take a taxi over taking a bus at that time of day. How hard is it to get a taxi with a car seat from the airport?

Nice to hear you’re coming along to Switzerland.

Normally, especially at airports, there will be numerous taxis around, of which most should have a child seat available.

As you say you’re staying at a hotel close to the airport, the chance is also big that you’ll have a hotel shuttle bus available. Find details on which hotel offers such a service via the “Geneva aiport” webpage at the bottom of the following link:

The hotel doesn’t have a shuttle van, so that’s not an option. I assume GVA has a taxi rank where there will be plenty of taxis, I’m just hoping for more details on the logistics of actually matching up with a taxi that has an infant seat.

As said, I can’t see you having any problems finding such a taxi, as the drivers strongly depend on following the traffic regulations for their job. Simply ask the drivers at the rank.

Alternatively, you could try contacting Geneva Airport to find out beforehand.
