    Hi again Batiyo,

Yes, that all looks quite reasonable to me! I assume you planned out the timing and connections with the Swiss railways timetable and it all seems reasonable to you? http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

I’d have an extra activity planned for day 4. You should have time for something else depending on when you leave for Titlis of course. Perhaps the kids (and you) would enjoy the Swiss Transport museum? http://www.myswissalps.com/mu seumoftransport

Bern may be a good back up city trip in case a mountain trip is clouded over as well: http://www.myswissalps.com/be rn

Day 6 is the only really busy day so plan that one carefully. Lastly just check weather each morning at the mountains and be prepared to switch plans. For example, if Gornergrat looks good on day 8 rather than 7 you might want to switch.

After reading your suggestions and lots of other correspondence on the forum, I made this plan; I know that some back up plans are required in case, it’s cloudy for the mountain trip.

Can a ride at tin tobbalgen be adjusted on any day?

For my last day in Zurich, would you suggest trip to Rhine falls or a half day city trip to uetliberg?

    Regards

    Hi Batiyo,

I don’t understand your first question, sorry. As for your second question: both are good options. The Rhine Falls are not in Zurich itself so it takes more time but it’s certainly doable. Uetliberg is just outside of the city and quickly to be reached. If both appeal I guess it depends on how much time you prefer to have left to explore the city center. The below links might be helpful to make you choice:

I was thinking of taking my family for a ride at tobbogen; probably at some place near interlaken….can it be done on some day

    Hi Batiyo,

There’s one in the Heimwehfluh park (http://www.heimwehfluh.ch/att raktionen/rodelbahn/) and there might be others as well. You might be able to include it on day 5 or 8.

I have finalised my trip plan as per this thread and my sincere thanks to all administrators and other people on the forum for the suggestions and inputs.

Can you please suggest some back up plans for each days to compensate for bad weather?

    Regards

Usually the best backup for bad weather is indoors. Larger towns have museums like the Transport Museum in Lucerne: http://www.myswissalps.com/mu seumoftransport.

The nice thing about Switzerland is that if the weather is poor in Lucerne it doesn’t mean the weather in Montreux or Lugano is poor as well. So you can always head to another town easily enough. http://www.myswissalps.com/wh eretogo/towns

Sometimes if the weather is poor in Interlaken the weather can still be great at the top of Jungfraujoch. Or vice versa – if the weather looks bad at Jungfraujoch, look at a boat trip on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz instead.

I’d get in the habit of checking the weather each night for the next day before setting your plans (and check it again in the morning and go where the weather looks best).
