    Hi,

I understand that days will be longer during summer in Switzerland. I see that the sunrise is around 5 :30 AM and sunset is around 9:00 PM. Does this mean that the services like cable car, funicular, cogwheel train to the mountains will be operational till sunset?

    Regards,

    Shajid

    Hi Shajid,

No not necessarily. You can check the timetable for the first or last trips down a mountain. http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

For example, to Jungfraujoch (http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch) the last train down is at 18:43 on July 6, 2019 and the first train up is 08:43 (from Grindelwald).

    No.

Some lines will close down in late afternoon, some may continue into the night.

It depends on the character of the destination. For example Gornergrat has a hotel so needs trains later into the evening, but a small mountain top destination at the top of a cable car may only be used by tourists during the day.

    Hi Shajid,

The Stanserhorn (Lucerne region) has descents I believe until 2300 hrs. in the summer, on Friday evenings. I happened to land in Zurich on a Friday and made my way to the Cabrio double decker and went up. There may be some more mountains to do the same, but I know the Stanserhorn does. Check that out.
