Me and my husband are traveling to Switzerland from 25th MAy to 2nd June

Request advise on the below points:

25-28th May – Luzern for 4 nights- plan to visit Mount Titlis, Rigi, Pilatus , walking trails and Bern or RhineFalls. Please suggest if anything can be added or removed to this.

29-31stMay- Wengen 3 nights 0 plan to visit Jungfraujoch- Top of Europe, Schilthorn. Please suggest anything else which can be covered from here. From Wengen will take the GEX to St Moritz

1st June- 1 night stay in Stay in St Moritz and take BEX to Tirano.

I am planning to buy the Swiss Travel Pass and I believe it will cover all the above except the below:

    1. Mount Pilatus

2 Jungfraujoch- Top of Europe -Only 25%
    discount on STP

    3. Reservation Fees in GEX & BEX.

Please correct me If i am wrong in the above and please suggest how to reserve seat on GEX & BEX and what are the reservation charges. Also in case you feel some other Travel Pass will suit me better as in will be cheaper.

Any suggestions of where to buy Chocolates, Cheese and Wine in the places I am stay or planning to visit.

Does one get change Euro to CHF easily and at good rates in Switzerland? Or should I get CHF from my country.

    Thanks

You are on the right track with you Swiss Travel Pass assumptions. Titlis is also only 50% discount from Engleberg. The best place to reserve seats on the BEX and GEX if you want to select particular seats is here. During the reservation process you can nominate that you have a Swiss Travel Pass so you only pay the reservation fee. Don’t delay.

Try to make time to go to Brig via Kandersteg. Between Spiez and Brig you will travel on the Regio-Express Lötschberger train over the traditional, more than 100 year old mountain route, giving you a wonderful view along the impressive peaks and down into the Rhone Valley. The 1-hour faster route via Visp takes you through the fairly lengthy Lötschberg Base Tunnel with rather limited views.

You can buy chocolates cheese and wine at any supermarket. In the larger stations and towns it is difficult to avoid specialist chocolate shops.

    Thanks for your replay.

I am trying to reserve seat on GEX on their website-shop.glacierexpress.ch /gex_en however I am not able to just reserve the seat , its showing the both the fare and reservation fee. For 2 people its showing as 294 CHF.

I am not getting the option of paying just for the reservation fees. Kindly help in this regard.

    >> I am trying to reserve seat on GEX on their website … I am not getting the option of paying just for the reservation fees.

When you get to the screen where you have to fill in the personal details for each individual traveller, there is a box with a drop-down list of reductions passengers might be entitled to. If you will have a Swiss Travel Pass when you travel (whether or not you have already bought it), select that, and the fare will reduce to the cost of the reservation only.
