Hi All,

I am trying to figure out what to add to this day for my July trip. As we will not have been to SP yet, I thought it might be doable somewhere in this piece. Here is what I have so far:

Lake Brienz steamer (which I believe leaves at 11:07 only) stop at Iseltwald- funicular to GrandHotel for lunch- Giessbach Falls Hike (short) GrandHotel for lunch- and walk back down to Lake-Brienz (short).-town of Brienz-boat back to Interlaken Ost. I would like to get to SP possibly after this? We are based in Wengen for about 9 days and have the Bernese Oberland Regional so don’t mind going all around. As we won’t have done much hiking on this day, we will still be up for a walk as well-easy to medium, please! Truly appreciate all the input.

Hello Cr91958,

How nice to hear you’ll be spending 9 days in the Bernese Oberland.

It just might be a little tight your plan, simply because the last connection to and from Schynige Platte leaves just before 6 pm. However this strongly depends how long you’ll want to stay at each of the planned stops during that day. So it is do-able.

Thank you. I will add the Rothorn to this day and visit Schynigge Platte on a separate day then.

That seems like good idea. The Brienzer Rothorn is spectacular on a clear day.

However, you could consider taking a boat from Giesbach to Interlaken or Brienz.

A boat at 1451 from Giessbach to Oberreid am briuenzersee, then a bus to IO could get you to IO by 1524.

Doesn’t include much walking, however.
