    Hello Team,

I am planning to take a train from Frankfurt to Interlaken. I have a ‘Swiss Travel Pass’. All I have to do is to purchase a ticket on the Bahn.com website upto ‘Basel SBB’ and then take the Swiss train to Interlaken, meaning the ‘STP’ will cover the travel from Bahn to Interlaken, correct? Moreover, do I need to reserve a seat on the ‘Bahn.om’ wesite?

You will need to buy a Deutsche Bahn (DB) ticket Frankfurt – Basel SBB. You can then either break your journey at Basel or carry on on the same train. Most through trains from Frankfurt to Switzerland are ICE 1 type high speed trains (the most comfortable trains in Europe) with high capacity – you shouldn’t need to reserve but you can for the German leg if you so wish.

Direct ICEs to Interlaken leave 3 times a day from Frankfurt/Main Hbf at 08.50, 14.50 and 16.50

    Hi RVMountains,

You can find a few online retailers for tickets from Frankfurt to Basel here (including DB): https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets/ger many/price

You can also search for train connections between Frankfurt and Interlaken here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable – there are direct trains as 1960man notes.

The train travels to Basel and that is where the Swiss Travel Pass starts coverage (see https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ validity) but you won’t need to change trains if you take a direct one.
