Hi

I see that some areas of Switzerland offer a pass that gives free access on local cable cars, buses, etc. Is there a comprehensive list? I was in Saas-Fee a few years ago and thought that having the pass made it incredible. This time we want to try a different spot but it is hard to tell where passes are included. We are looking at Berner Oberland area.

Correct, quite some villages offer free local traveling to their hotel and apartment guests. The area for free/discounted traveling is usually quite small though (some exceptions such as the Montreux Riviera Card exist: http://www.myswissalps.com/montreux/hotels), and if you have any serious travel plans you’d better look into regional or nation-wide rail passes.

As for the Bernese Oberland: most hotels in the Interlaken area and the Jungfrau region provide a Guest Card or Visitor Card. You’ll find links providing details at
