Dear Sirs

I wish to check the best way to travel from Interlaken to Montreux on 15SEP17.

I have read that the Golden Pass has the route from Interlaken to Montreux, however, when I key in the enquiry for the fare and etc, there is no such route available and I have to change train in Spiez and Visp.

Can you please help to clarify.

Hi Peter and welcome to MySwissAlps!

The Golden Pass route does travel between Interlaken and Montreux. You have to enter the via-stations Meiringen and Zweisimmen on the timetable to get the correct routing.

There is only one via option to be input. In addition, how can I book the route from Interlaken to Montreux for the Golden Pass train.

On a separate issue regarding the Glacier Express, if the reservation is already not available in some dates, does it means there is no way the seats will be available again ?

Hi Peter,

Once you see the travel options presented, just click “change” and “advanced search” to add the 2nd via option. The key is to travel by the panoramic train (noted as MOB on the timetable) between Zweisimmen and Montreux.
The Golden Pass is just a route, not a specific train, but the panoramic train is what everyone wants. 🙂

It is possible that seats could be cancelled on the Glacier Express but I don’t think it would be too likely. I would try and book another date if possible.
