    Hi All

I want to buy a 3 day Swiss Travel Pass starting this Saturday (17th June). I’m at Uk.. I attempted to buy this initially from sbb site but it looks there are some issues in the site accepting foreign cards. I’m arriving at Geneva airport on Friday around 9.15pm – so I doubt whether I will be able to buy at the station.

Some of them suggested to look at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price

I checked and found the following two sites offer the print versions. (I don’t want to buy the delivery option as it’s too late to buy one).

    http://www.swissrailways.com

    http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk

Can someone please confirm the following:

    1. Once I buy from any one of these two sites, will I just receive the mail / print version of travel pass? Can this be directly used from day 1 without visiting any ticket counter ?

    2. Is there any difference between these two sites? Any additional advantages one over the other?

    3. Will the passes purchased from these sites have the same coverage / validity similar to the one bought in sbb site? I know that few scenic trains are excluded, but would like to know whether there is any fine print or special conditions compared to the passes bought in official site or at the station?

    4. Any promotions available in any of these sites?

    Hi Pradeeptu,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! For where to buy, please see the list of options on myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/price.

To check if any promotions are available, please see myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/promotions.

The official tourist webshop of the Swiss Railways is http://www.swissrailways.com/ en and the one specifically for the UK is http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk. As you can see on the first link the prices are nearly the same, so I would recommend the UK site as they offer payment in GBP so you might save on banking fees. All websites sell the same Swiss Travel Pass, no difference there.

Both websites offer a print at home version of the pass: after filling out your address, they will show the delivery options. Pick “Online Ticket” from the bottom of the list. They will e-mail the pass within 1-3 business days (typically less than one day), so you can print it at home.

    Hello Arno..

I have a similar question..I hope you can clear my cofusion..

I am from India and trying to buy a 8 day pass which is Swiss Travel pass from Raileurope.com

When I check the price in raileurope.co.in and in Raileurope.com the price difference is aroud 40 USD ( including the conversion fess charged by my bank for payment of USD and billed in INR ).

So my first question is can I use raileurope.com site instead of raileurope.co.in and buy the pass ?? Will it be valid ??

2nd question is when I am trying to buy from raileurope.co.in site I am not asked about the first travel date anywere in the site where as in in raileurope.com its being asked in initial stage itself..is this an issue ?? or it wont make any difference at all ???

    Hi Ronnywitty,

The websites you can buy from are listed on myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/price. The raileurope.com website should not be listed in your case because they only sell to North American customers. They may cancel your order if you succeed in buying there.

If you go to http://www.raileurope.co.in/p ass/swiss-travel-pass-82 you can get a discount as explained on myswissalps.com/forum/ topic/rail-europe-summer-deal-on-train-passestickets. I’m not sure why they don’t ask for a first travel day. They normally do. But I’m sure it will be fine as they’re a credible retailer.

You can also buy from the official tourist webshop at http://www.swissrailways.com/ en. See my previous post for how it works. They’re cheaper than the North American website at the moment.

    Did this help you out?

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before or this is the wrong board (please help me repost). I plan to get a 3 day Swiss Travel Flex pass.

Question 1: I start in Milan and the first leg is Milan – Brig. I understand from other posts that I have to buy the Milan – Domodossola section. Domodossola – Brig is supposedly covered by the STP. However, from this map (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity) I see red dotted lines between Iselle di Tasquera – Brig. Does this mean this segment is only discounted and not fully covered? If such is the case, how do I pay the difference? In Milan when buying the ticket for Domodossola or in the train when the conductor comes around?

Question 2: Suppose my pass is valid between July 13-August 13, and I plan to use the first TRAIN journey on July 20. Can I use the pass to get discounted CABLE CAR rides between July 13-19? Or are discounts only valid AFTER you have used up one flexiday on the pass (in this case on or after July 20)?

Question 3: Do online print outs of the pass need validation before use? If yes, how do I do that in Milan?
